soluble in 2 volumes of 80% ethanol,also soluble in oil fragrance, sharp fragrance, diluted aroma of violet leaves and mimosa flowers. It has a pleasant taste of green fruits and vegetables, such as unripe bananas, fresh peaches and cucumber peels.
Usage It has a green floral effect and can be used with other spices for gardenia, tuberose, violet, osmanthus, rose and other fragrances. It is also used in acacia compounds, plain orchids, and other formulas containing violanone to enhance the aroma and give a head fragrance. In edible spices, trace amounts are used to imitate peach, banana, lychee, longan, cucumber, melon, round currant and berry flavors.
Use: GB2760–1996 stipulates that it is a permissible edible spice. It is mainly used to prepare green bananas, cucumbers, peaches, lychees, longans, melons and other flavors. Uses: Ester synthetic fragrances. The production method consists of 2-octene through 1-octylene to octylene carboxylic acid, and then esterified with methanol.
