No smell, no smell. Can absorb acid and carbon dioxide. When heated to 300 ℃, it loses water to form alumina. The minimum lethal dose (rat, abdominal cavity) is 150mg/kg.
Application
Aluminium hydroxide (CAS 21645-51-2) is a versatile inorganic compound widely used as a flame retardant filler in plastics, rubber, cables, and construction materials. It decomposes endothermically at around 200°C, releasing water vapor and cooling the substrate, making it an effective non-halogenated smoke suppressant for polyolefins, PVC, and epoxy resins. In the pharmaceutical industry, it serves as an antacid for treating heartburn and gastric ulcers, and as an adjuvant in vaccines to enhance immune response. It is also used in water treatment as a coagulant, in toothpaste as an abrasive, and in the production of aluminum chemicals. Xinchem offers custom synthesis, custom chemical synthesis, and contract manufacturing of high-purity aluminium hydroxide with flexible scaling from R&D to commercial tons.
