Introduction

Tasteless. Micro moisture absorption. Heating to 225-250 ℃ to produce acidic sodium pyrophosphate, 350-400 ℃ to form sodium metaphosphate. Median lethal dose (rat, muscle) 250mg/kg. Easily soluble in water, the aqueous solution is acidic, can agglomerate in humid air, and is almost insoluble in ethanol. When heated to 100 ℃, it dehydrates, generates sodium pyrophosphate at 190-210 ℃, and decomposes into sodium metaphosphate at 280-300 ℃.
Solubility in water: 850g/L (20°C)

Application
Sodium dihydrogen phosphate (MSP, CAS 89140-32-9) is a white crystalline inorganic salt used as an acidity regulator, sequestrant, and texturizer across multiple industries. As a high-purity buffering agent, it maintains acidic pH in water treatment, metal finishing, boiler systems, and electroplating baths, preventing corrosion and scaling. In food processing, it functions as an emulsifier and moisture-retention aid in dairy, beverages, baked goods, and meat products, improving texture and shelf life. In pharmaceutical and biochemical applications, it is a component of buffer solutions for biomolecule purification, downstream processing, and liquid formulations, as well as a laxative preparation. MSP also serves as a nutrient supplement in animal feed, an anti-caking agent, a dye assistant in textiles, and as a calcium sequestrant in industrial cleaners. Available in food, pharmaceutical, and industrial grades. Xinchem offers custom synthesis, custom chemical synthesis, and contract manufacturing of high-purity sodium dihydrogen phosphate with flexible scales from R&D to commercial volumes.
