Modified starch(CAS#30395-18-7)

Chemical Property:

I. Basic Product Description

‌Basic Properties‌: With a chemical purity of ‌99%‌, it appears as a white powder with the molecular formula C₁₄H₂₂O₆ and a molecular weight of 286.32. It is classified as a thickening food additive.

‌Product Characteristics‌: It features low retrogradation of paste, high stability against acid, alkali and heat, high paste transparency, excellent freeze-thaw stability, weak intermolecular hydrogen bonding tendency and outstanding storage stability. Among its derivatives, crosslinked starch acetate has higher viscosity stability against high temperature, strong shear force and low pH environment, as well as better low-temperature storage and freeze-thaw stability, making it suitable for canned food applications; hydroxypropyl starch acetate serves as an excellent base for chewing gum, which is insoluble in water and provides good chewing elasticity.

‌Application Scenarios‌: As a thickener, stabilizer and binder, it is widely used in food processing for products such as minced meat products, soy sauce, soup cans, chocolate, instant noodles, jelly, chewing gum and fish balls. It can also be used as a colloid stabilizer in beverages containing solid components, and as a fat substitute in processed meat products like sausages.

‌Storage Requirements‌: It needs to be sealed and protected from light, stored in a dry, cool and well-ventilated environment, avoid direct sunlight, keep away from fire sources, and prevent contamination by impurities and odors.

Safety Information

Publicly available product safety information is relatively limited. Available data shows:
Compliant food-grade modified starch is an approved food additive, and when used in appropriate amounts according to production requirements, food-grade products will not cause side effects to the human body.

‌Safe Operation Requirements‌: Avoid inhaling dust during operation, prevent product contact with skin and eyes, and maintain good ventilation in the operating environment. It is recommended to wear personal protective equipment such as protective gloves, protective clothing and goggles, and clean contaminated clothing in time after operation.

‌Emergency Treatment‌: If accidentally ingested, rinse mouth immediately and contact a poison control center or seek medical attention; if it comes into contact with skin, rinse with plenty of water and then seek medical attention; if accidentally inhaled, move to a place with fresh air and keep breathing unobstructed, seek medical attention if necessary.

‌Waste Disposal‌: Residual contents and containers should be disposed of by a compliant waste treatment plant, and direct discharge into sewers or natural water bodies is prohibited.
